Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

Plain English first: Use Homa for your life. Don't misuse her. You own your data. She is not a doctor or a lawyer. You can leave at any time. If something is an emergency, call the emergency services, not Homa.

1. About Homa and Homacy Ltd

Homa is a personal companion service provided by Homacy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By using Homa, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. What Homa is, and is not

Homa is a personal companion. She is not:

  • A medical device or healthcare provider
  • A regulated financial adviser
  • A legal professional
  • An emergency service
  • A substitute for professional clinical care

Homa provides information, support, and company. She flags concerns and refers to professionals. She does not diagnose, prescribe, or make clinical decisions. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 (UK), 911 (US), or your local emergency number.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create a Homa account. Children may use Homa within a family account with the consent and oversight of the account holder. You are responsible for ensuring that your family's use of Homa complies with these Terms.

4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including your four-word security key. Do not share your security key with anyone. Homacy Ltd cannot access your The Vault and cannot recover it if you lose your key without the vault recovery system.

You agree to provide accurate information when setting up your account and to keep it current.

5. Subscription and payment

Homa is available on a subscription basis. Pricing is as displayed in the app and on our website. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Payment is processed by Stripe. You can cancel at any time through your account settings or through the App Store / Google Play. Refunds are subject to the platform's refund policy.

6. Your data and your The Vault

Your data belongs to you. Your The Vault is encrypted and stored locally on your device. You can delete it at any time. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Our full data practices are set out in our Privacy Policy at homacy.co/privacy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Homa to:

  • Engage in or facilitate illegal activity
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to circumvent or compromise the security of the service
  • Use automated systems to access the service in ways not intended
  • Share access to your account with others (family members use separate profiles within a family account)
  • Use the service in any way that could damage Homacy Ltd or other users

8. Mental health and crisis situations

Homa takes mental health seriously. She is designed to notice when you may need support and to respond with care. However:

  • She is not a mental health professional
  • She is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, or clinical care
  • If you are in crisis, please contact: Samaritans 116 123 (UK, 24/7, free); 988 (US); or your local emergency services

Homa will always provide crisis line numbers when someone is in distress. She will not leave you in silence. But she is not the right help, she is the person who makes sure you get it.

9. Homacy (digital continuation)

The Homacy service, digital continuation after death, is subject to separate terms and requires explicit consent. It is not automatically included in any subscription. These terms will be presented separately and require a positive opt-in.

10. Intellectual property

Homa, the orb, the Homacy name, and all associated software and content are the intellectual property of Homacy Ltd. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use the service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service.

The content you create and the memories stored in your The Vault belong to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homacy Ltd is not liable for:

  • Any decisions made based on information provided by Homa
  • Any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss
  • Loss of data (beyond what is caused by our negligence)
  • Any harm arising from reliance on Homa in situations requiring professional advice

Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period does not exceed the amount you paid for the service in that period. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

12. Changes to the service

We may update Homa over time, improving her, expanding what she can do, fixing things. We will not materially reduce the core service you have paid for without notice. We will notify you of significant changes in advance.

13. Termination

You can stop using Homa at any time by cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where possible. Upon termination, your The Vault data can be exported or deleted at your request.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will first be addressed through direct contact with us at hello@homacy.co. If unresolved, disputes will be referred to the courts of England and Wales.
